This is a list of expectations and requirements for TFCO's within Alpha Fleet.
- Task Force Commanding Officers have the right to control the design of their Task Forces, as long as it is agreeable to the AF Command Council.
- TFCOs should encourage all members of their TF to continue recruiting for the benefit of AF. They should maintain a recruitment resource list and be able to advise CO's under their command how to go about recruiting for their simm from outside the fleet.
- TFCOs must respond to CO’s within their Tfs, in a timely manner. A timely manner is seen as 24-48 hours response over email, IM should not be relied upon due to individuals work / school schedules. (IE - certain members may be seen as online but away but may not be at the keyboard. If the matter is official / urgent IM may be tried as a first port of call but then must be followed by an email.)
- TFCOs should fairly represent the interests of their member sims in meetings and votes. They will be seen as the voice of not only the co's in their TF but also the individual simmer, ensuring that each and every player in AF has a voice.
- All TFCO roles will be appointed by Fleet Command. A TFCO may be asked to choose his/her own TFXO or one maybe appointed by Command. This person does not necessarily need to be the next in line (time served) but should possess the skills and mentality required for the role. If this choice is obviously not suitable and has been picked with favouritism in mind, then the Fleet Council may request another choice.
- TFCOs and TFXOs are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism. This means that they should listen to any and all complaints brought before them with an impartial ear, and attempt to mediate in any conflict. If they cannot or are involved in the conflict then they will request a suitable unbiased replacement mediator.
- TFCOs and TFXOs are responsible for attracting new Simm Commanding Officers to their Task Forces. CO's not recruited directly by the TF staff will be assigned on a rotational basis depending on numbers.
- TFXOs will assume the role of TFCO when the TFCO goes on LOA or becomes AWOL. In the case of a removal of TFCO by Fleet Command, the current TFXO will be considered as a replacement, although other officers will also be considered.
- The TFXO will be the first port of call if members of the TF have a problem needing higher involvement. If the TFXO is uncontactable (no response to email within 48 hours) then the TFCO should be contacted. If there is no response from the TFCO to email within 48 hours then the matter should be escalated up the chain of command. If the matter is extremely urgent then the advice of any command council member may be sought (note: advice means just that, they will advise a suitable course of action, which may be to wait for a response or escalate to the next level.)
- Please use the chain of command, its there for a reason. This is for speedy resolution of internal matters within the fleet. Currently we have a culture of direct approach to Command Officers and the CinC, which is a good open state of affairs. Unfortunately this means that those people are not getting to simm, or having the time to enjoy their games. Which is, in essence what we are all here for. Remember, you may not be the only person asking questions of the CinC / Command Officer, you may be one of four or five at any one time.
