If you so wish to use any of the content on this wiki you must ask any and all users who have contributed to the article you wish to draw information from. If you do not do so and decided to use the intellectual property present on this wiki without permission then you may find yourself on the recieving end of some legal charges...
Alpha Fleet and its affiliated entities (“us,” “we” or “our”) created this Web Site Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) to ensure the confidence of our visitors and guests (“you” or “your”) with our Web site (the “Site”), and to demonstrate our commitment to fair information practices and to protect your privacy.
In addition to offering you a variety of information, alpha-fleet.com and its sister sites ("SIMs, Recruitment Sites, AF Wiki, ect) also provides access to a wealth of recourses for use within AF and only within AF, unless granted permission, in writing, by Alpha-Fleet or the contributing owner. Sister sites can be identified by either a .alpha-fleet.com prefix or by being listed through one of our many Site links as a "SIM/Ship/Department" of Alpha Fleet. 1 - Types of Information Collected.
a - Traffic Data Collected. We automatically track and collect the following information when you visit our Site, including your: (i) IP address; (ii) domain server; (iii) type of computer; and (iv) type of web browser (collectively "Traffic Data"). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful to improve your experience on the Site and to track site usage. We may also use “cookies” to customize content specific to your interests, to ensure that you do not see the same promotional content repeatedly and to store your password (if one is required to be issued) so you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit the Site.
b - Personal Information Collected. In order for you to access certain specialized areas, to apply to an Alpha-Fleet SIM/Ship, or to participate in any other Alpha-Fleet venues offered at the Site or our Sister sites, we may require you to provide us with information that personally identifies you ("Personal Information"). Personal Information may include: (i) Contact Data (such as your name, mailing and e-mail addresses); and (ii) Demographic Data (such as your age and location). If you communicate with us by Email, or complete polls or other website forms, any information you provide may be collected as Personal Information.
c - Ship Position Search. Through our Site we provide access to an "employment" database under the title “Alpha Fleet Recruitment.” When you submit an application through the Alpha Fleet Recruitment site, we will treat your application with the same degree of confidentiality as if you had submitted it to us via regular mail. If you have any questions about this process, please contact us.
2 - Uses of Information Collected.
We may use Contact Data to send you information about Alpha-Fleet or our Sister sites, or promotional material, or to contact you when necessary. We may use your Demographic Data to customize and tailor your experience on the Site, displaying content that may interest you according to your preferences. In addition, Alpha-Fleet holds the right to post your, AF User name, email address(es), chat/forum logs, site activity, and form submissions within our JAG (Judge Advocate General) site, if you are ever proven to have broken any regulation within Alpha Fleet. This is for protection of our members and many sister sites, and by submitting or visiting alpha-fleet.com or any of its Sister sites, you acknowledge and accept this and can hold no legal claims against such use of information.
3 - User Choice Regarding Collection, Use and Distribution of Personal Information.
You may choose not to provide us with any Personal Information. In that case you can still access and use parts of the Site and some of our Sister sites; however you will not be able to access and use portions of the Site that require your Personal Information nor will you be able to participate on any Sister sites (SIMs/Ships) within Alpha-Fleet.. If you do not wish to receive information and promotional material from us or from some of our partners, you may select the appropriate "opt out" option each time we ask you for Personal Information.
4 - Confidentiality and Security of Personal Information.
Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy we will keep your Personal Information private and will not share it with third parties, unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a court order or other legal process; or (b) protect our rights or property. Your Personal Information is stored on secure servers that are not accessible by third parties. We provide you with the capability to transmit your Personal Information via secured and encrypted channels if you use a similarly equipped web browser. We will obtain your permission to release your Personal Information before allowing you to use any of our services that require us to release your Personal Information to a third party. However, for those who are listed on the JAG section of the Site or our Sister sites, Alpha-Fleet can not be held accountable for any Third Party that uses such information. Henceforth, by submitting such data, as agreed upon in section 2, you accept that Alpha-Fleet may use your any data you willingly submit through the Site or our Sister sites, and can not hold Alpha -Fleet or its Sister sites accountable for use of such information by a Third Part. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE THIRD PARTIES YOUR INFORMATION WITHOUT PERMISSION. ANY THIRD PARTY THAT USES YOUR INFORMATION BY TAKING IT OFF THIS SITE HAS DONE SO WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALPHA FLEET.
5 - Lost or Stolen Information
For those who are registered to use the site or our sister sites, you must promptly notify us if your user name or password is lost, stolen or used without permission. In such an event, we will cancel that user name or password and update our records accordingly.
6 - Other Limits to Your Privacy.
The Site contains links to other Web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. Please understand that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes subject to the privacy policies and practices of those site. We have no control over its use and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your Personal Information.
7 - Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update or modify this Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update or modification on the Site. Any such change, update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting on the Site.
